Product Heritage
The Don Julio 1942 is only created in small batches and follows a ‘nothing but the best’ process. Firstly, the farmers hand-select the Blue Weber agave plants at peak ripeness for the best sugar content. It is slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens for a lengthy 70 hours to maximise the potential for a rich, sweet flavour.
The roasted agave piñas are then crushed to extract the juice, which is then fermented and double-distilled. Finally, the spirit ages in American white oak barrels for at least 2.5 years. This careful and unusually lengthy process gives this tequila a unique taste, golden hue and smooth texture.
