Teremana Tequila was founded by actor and entrepreneur Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, in collaboration with co-founders Jenna Fagnan, Ken Austin, and Dany Garcia.

The name "Teremana" combines "Tere," derived from the Latin word "terra" meaning earth, and "Mana," a Polynesian word meaning spirit, translating roughly to "Spirit of the Earth."

Teremana offers three main expressions: Blanco (unaged), Reposado (aged in American whiskey barrels for a minimum of 2 months), and Añejo (aged for a longer period in American whiskey barrels).
